Pair of Georgian Walnut Demilune Tables

Description

A pair of Georgian walnut demilune tables of simple, well-balanced form. Each stands on four square tapered legs. The tables can be used individually as consoles or together as a circular dining table.

Their restrained design makes them equally at home in a hallway, drawing room, or dining space.

Condition Report

In good antique condition with wear commensurate with age. Both tables show evidence of historic, long-treated woodworm to the softwood rear rails, concealed when positioned against a wall or when used together. One rear rail has been reduced slightly in height, likely during its working life to allow use as a desk. Both tops display the honest wear expected of Georgian furniture, and the finish varies slightly between the two, suggesting they have spent part of their history apart. These points are noted for completeness and do not detract from what remains a characterful and solid near pair.
