A Japanese blue and white jardiniere is a decorative ceramic vessel produced primarily during the Meiji period for indoor plants or ornamental display. These pieces were crafted using underglaze cobalt blue painting techniques on fine porcelain, frequently exported to European markets during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
