Christopher Buck Antiques Ltd. has dated this Mahogany Handkerchief Tea Table to the 18th Century.

Made in England in about 1740 -1750 these unusual tables are sometimes called 'Hankerchief' Tables. The drop-leaf hangs down behind the table, (or in front if placed in a corner), and can be lifted and supported on a hinged extra leg, to make a very practical square table.

There is also a lockable compartment accessible by lifting the table-top. Stands on turned legs with pad feet. This table is in good original condition and has acquired a lovely, age appropriate patina
