Culvertons has dated this Arts Crafts Oak Side Table to the 1930s.
Its through-tenon joints, securing the central stretchers to the side rails, reveal decorative end grain, while the original handmade wooden drawer knob provides another understated example of their restrained craftsmanship. Committed to preserving traditional skills, the Simpson family also taught their craft to others in the region. With mass production far from their ethos, pieces such as this sensitively restored table remain hard to find.
