This 19thC Large French Mahogany Console Table has a number of redeeming features. With the two finely carved, substantial uprights to the front awash with detail, leading up from the platform base veneered in figured mahogany.The large commodious drawer with shaped front that has a finely carved escutcheon, like the rest of the frieze is also veneered in figured Mahogany. The drawer is oak lined.The whole piece is topped off with a light grey, with darker grey veining marble top that adds durability to the piece. The marble top has some small signs of wear and abrasions, to be expected for a piece of this age and are illustrated in the photos.This table is of very good quality as can be seen by the oak framework that reveals itself when the marble top is removed.
