Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Dutch polychrome Delftware refers to tin-glazed earthenware produced in the Netherlands, primarily during the 17th and 18th centuries, featuring multi-coloured painted decoration rather than the traditional monochrome blue and white palette.

Delftware was created using local or imported clay that was shaped, kiln-fired, dipped in an opaque white tin glaze, hand-painted with metal oxide pigments, and fired a second time to melt the glaze and fix the colours.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit signs of age such as glaze crazing, pinholes in the tin glaze, minor rim chipping exposing reddish or buff earthenware body clay, hand-painted brushwork inconsistencies, and smooth lead glaze coats on the underside.

Lobed Delftware dishes can be styled as focal display pieces on plate stands across sideboards, grouped on gallery walls, or displayed on open shelving within traditional or eclectic room schemes.

Clean tin-glazed earthenware using a soft, dry brush or a gently dampened cloth with cold water, avoiding immersion, abrasive detergents, or ultrasonic cleaners that might compromise damaged glaze surfaces.
