A carved giltwood wall bracket is a decorative wall-mounted support made from hand-carved timber covered in gesso and gold leaf. Historically used in 18th and 19th-century interiors, these pieces served to elevate and display porcelain, marble busts, or small ornamental objects.

Traditional giltwood brackets are carved from softwoods such as pine or lime wood, coated with layers of gesso plaster, and finished using water gilding or oil gilding with genuine gold leaf.
