A George IV mahogany writing table in the Gillows style, the rectangular top with a moulded edge, inset tooled and gilt faded khaki leather writing surface and crossbanded border, over a long drawer to the centre and with each side two short drawers (the right hand one being one deep drawer but presented as two) all with turned wooden handles, around a kneehole with fan corners, and raised on tapering fluted supports terminating in brass casters. English, circa 1825.
Condition: Excellent, the table is in very good condition with no damage or repairs, the leather, which is probably later, is in excellent condition with no marks or tears, the drawers all run smoothly and are all full length and the table stands very well with no wobbling, and overall it has a smart appearance, with elegant proportions, great colour and patina.
