This early twentieth-century vintage Royal Doulton English porcelain figurine, titled "Afternoon Tea" and numbered HN 1747, depicts two women in nineteenth-century period costume seated together at a tea table. Made from bone china with a hand-painted glazed finish, the piece displays a multicoloured palette featuring a blue bodice, a white floral patterned skirt with blue and yellow flowers, a pink gown, and matching blue and pink bonnets. The detailed teaset on the table includes a miniature teapot, cups, and a plate of pastries. The figurine measures 13 cm high, 18 cm wide, and 13 cm deep. Designed by artist P. Railston and painted by Reg Brown, the base carries the green Royal Doulton printed backstamp, registration number, and handwritten script details. The style embodies an English country house design vibe with traditional motifs. It is suited for placement on a mantelpiece or display cabinet within a home interior.

Royal Doulton began producing bone china figurines in Burslem, England, in the early 20th century, becoming noted for detailed modelling and polychrome hand-painted glazes.

English porcelain figurines are created using liquid slip-casting techniques in plaster moulds, followed by hand-assembly, initial bisque firing, glazing, and multiple enamel kiln firings.

Authentic pieces display printed factory marks on the underside, typically including the Royal Doulton crest, the title of the work, and an official HN model reference number.

Position the piece on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or inside a glazed display cabinet alongside contemporary glass or timber objects to create balance.

Dust regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth or soft-bristled brush, avoiding water immersion, solvent cleaners, or abrasive materials that could harm the glaze.
