Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency period porcelain urns are defined by neoclassical forms inspired by ancient Greek and Roman pottery. Produced predominantly between 1811 and 1830, they frequently feature campana shapes, urn silhouettes on square plinths, gilded handles, and meticulous hand-painted enamel decoration depicting botanical, landscape, or classical scenes.

English manufacturers utilised soft-paste or bone china compositions fired at high temperatures. Decoration involved overglaze enamel painting applied by hand using fine brushes, followed by mercury gilding or leaf gilding that was burnished with agate tools to produce a luminous metallic finish.

Authentic pieces from this period (circa 18041813) often carry impressed or painted manufacturer marks on the underside, such as BFB beneath a crown. Authentication is also supported by examining the quality of the gilding, the translucency of the porcelain body, and the characteristic style of the hand-painted enamelling.

An antique porcelain urn functions as a refined focal point when placed atop a marble mantelpiece, console table, or central sideboard. Modern interiors benefit from pairing such neoclassical ceramics with minimalist backdrop colours, architectural foliage, or muted textiles to balance historical ornament with contemporary space.

Preserve gilt porcelain by dusting regularly with a soft, clean brush or microfibre cloth. Avoid immersing the piece in water, using chemical detergents, or applying abrasive cleaners, as moisture and friction can strip delicate overglaze enamels and burnished gilding.
