Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popular in the late 19th century, Aesthetic Movement and Moorish Revival furniture incorporated Middle Eastern, North African, and East Asian design influences, characteristically featuring intricate lattice work, geometric bone or mother-of-pearl inlay, and detailed relief carving.

Craftsmanship relied on dense hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, or rosewood, combined with bone, ebony, or mother-of-pearl inlays. Frameworks featured hand-cut joinery, turned spindles forming lattice screens, and hand-carved friezes.

Authentic late Victorian pieces exhibit hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, natural age-related patina on the timber, subtle variations in hand-carved motifs, and hand-fitted inlay panels that show organic minor surface variations.

A Moorish inlay side table functions as a distinctive accent piece in contemporary settings, contrasting effectively alongside neutral upholstered seating, woven natural textiles, or within a tailored study.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft lint-free cloth. Avoid liquid chemicals or excessive moisture that could weaken original animal glues holding the inlay; apply a clear beeswax paste sparingly once a year to nourish the wood.
