Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sir Gordon Russell was a influential British designer who bridged the Arts and Crafts movement and modern industrial production. Operating primarily out of Broadway in the Cotswolds, his workshop focused on high-quality timber joinery, functional geometry, and enduring British craftsmanship throughout the twentieth century.

Pieces from this movement predominantly feature native British hardwoods such as solid oak, walnut, or chestnut. Construction relies on traditional woodworking joinery techniques, highlighted by hand-applied clear wax finishes that accentuate the natural grain of the timber.

Authentic items frequently feature a paper workshop label, an embossed metal plaque, or a stamped mark indicating the Gordon Russell Broadway workshop. Additionally, identification relies on evaluating the precise joinery, clean architectural lines, and the weight of solid hardwood construction.

Wooden bookends function as structural accents on open shelving, office desks, or mantelpieces. Placing them alongside neutral modern ceramics, framed art prints, or cloth-bound books balances warm natural timber textures with minimalist contemporary decor.

Dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a thin layer of natural beeswax polish annually to protect the oak timber. Keep the items away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture to prevent warping or cracking of the wood structure.
