This Neoclassical marble statuary pedestal from 1910 follows a grand Regency style, constructed from stone in a deep dark green palette. The design includes a canted square top capital, a turned cylindrical shaft accented with collar mouldings, and an octagonal plinth base. Surface wear encompasses visible scuffs and knocks accumulated from age, alongside a gently cleaned finish. Practical dimensions measure 93 cm high, 20.5 cm wide, and 20.5 cm deep. Positioned in an empty corner, the column supports display pieces, sculptures, or plants within a contemporary interior scheme. The sturdy stone construction provides a stable display surface while adding traditional architectural presence to domestic spaces.

A Neoclassical marble pedestal is a tall support structure inspired by classical Greco-Roman architectural orders, featuring symmetrical proportions, geometric profiles, and polished natural stone construction.

These pedestals are typically crafted from solid block or sectioned natural marble, such as Serpentine or Carrara varieties, often turned on heavy lathes and secured with internal dowels or rods.

Authentic period examples often display hand-turned construction marks, age-related surface micro-chipping near the base, and historical jointing techniques between the capital, shaft, and plinth.

Position the pedestal as a structural accent in a room corner, hallway, or alcove to elevate a contemporary bronze sculpture, ceramic vessel, or architectural plant display.

Dust regularly with a soft cloth and clean using warm water with a pH-neutral stone soap, avoiding acidic cleaning solutions that can etch the polished surface.
