Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style furniture, prominent in the early 18th century, is characterized by graceful curves, cabriole legs, pad feet, and the extensive use of figured walnut veneers. The emphasis is placed on line, form, and natural wood figure rather than heavy surface carving.

Traditional walnut tables utilized solid walnut or native hardwoods like oak and pine as the underlying carcase wood. The exterior surfaces were frequently finished with high-figured walnut or burr walnut veneers attached with hide glue.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved joint details, hand-cut dovetails inside drawers or framework, natural shrinkage marks in the timber, and an uneven patina formed by aged wax polish and light exposure over time.

Position the table beside contemporary soft seating or in an entryway to add warm wood tones and historic contrast. Complement the piece with clean-lined ceramic lamps, minimal glass objects, or metallic decorative accents.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually to nourish the wood. Keep the table away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators to prevent the veneer from lifting or cracking.
