Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An 18th century English lamp table stands ready for the home as a rustic farmhouse side table or at the end of a sofa. Fashioned from oak, the piece has a distressed green painted finish showing age across its surfaces and frame. Two small drawers are fitted with brass drop handles, while the structure rests on turned legs joined by a sturdy lower stretcher base. Raised mouldings frame the drawer fronts beneath a rectangular top, and the green paint displays authentic wear and patina. The piece measures 70 cm high, 77 cm wide, and 61 cm deep, offering a practical surface for everyday use. In a contemporary interior, this painted oak table provides functional charm in a living room, bedroom, or hallway. The lower stretchers offer stability, and the dual drawers allow for discreet storage of small household items. The traditional country style integrates smoothly into rustic, cottage, or eclectic decorating schemes, creating a warm focal point next to seating furniture or against a wall.

FAQs

An English provincial painted oak lamp table is an accent piece crafted in regional workshops, featuring sturdy joinery and often finished or recoated in paint over generations to suit changing interior schemes.

These tables are primarily constructed from native solid oak using mortise and tenon joinery, featuring hand-turned legs, lower stretchers for stability, and fitted brass drawer pull handles.

Authenticity is indicated by natural paint wear along high-contact edges, original wood shrinkage along the table top, hand-cut joinery on drawer linings, and natural brass oxidisation.

Position the piece beside neutral upholstered seating or within a hallway, allowing the patinated green finish to serve as an accent contrast against contemporary wall finishes.

Dust regularly using a dry, soft cloth, avoiding commercial chemical polishes or water saturation that could cause original paint layers to flake or lift.
