A spider leg table is an 18th-century English design variant of the gateleg table, characterised by exceptionally slender turned legs and hinged drop leaves that allow it to fold into a narrow profile when not in use.

Traditionally crafted from hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut, these tables feature mortise and tenon joinery alongside hinged gate-legs supported by wooden rule joints along the underside of the table flaps.
