Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the nineteenth century, the Gothic Revival and Aesthetic Movement revived interest in stained glass for domestic architecture. Victorian home builders incorporated decorative leaded panels into front doors, hallway transoms, and windows to add colour and screen exterior views.

These panels were built using hand-blown or pressed coloured glass joined by pliable strips of lead called cames. Artisans soldered the joints and used glass enamel paints fired in a kiln to add fine details, such as birds, floral motifs, or geometric borders.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut glass with natural surface irregularities, air bubbles, and slight colour variations. The lead cames typically show age-related oxidisation, and enamel brushwork on hand-painted elements displays fine, hand-rendered lines rather than modern printed dots.

Framed architectural glass can be hung in front of a modern window or mounted in a lightbox to capture natural light. Alternatively, panels can be integrated into timber room dividers, internal doors, or displayed on a mantlepiece as decorative artwork.

Dust the glass gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can degrade the lead or painted surfaces. If the lead cames loosen over time, consult a specialist glass restorer to re-solder or re-cement the panel rather than applying modern adhesives.
