Three quarter bound tan leather with five raised bands and red leather title and volume panels. Marbled boards.

Marbled pastedown. Pencil markings to the front endpapers. Spotting to the preliminary pages, otherwise all other pages remain clean and bright.
SYNOPSIS
This Alphonse De Lamartine's monumental work. It blends historical narrative with the lyrical style of Romanticism. Although titled after the Girondist faction, the work serves s a broad history of the French Revolution from the death of Mirabeau to the fall of Robespierre.
