A beautiful antique Samson Hancock Derby tea set, comprising a teapot, milk jug, and sugar basin, decorated in the highly sought-after King’s Pattern Imari design, dating to the circa 1860s.

These elegant pieces are a fine example of 19th-century English Derby porcelain, richly decorated in the traditional Imari colour palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt highlights. The intricate pattern work and vibrant colours are typical of Samson Hancock Derby’s celebrated King’s pattern, making this a striking and highly decorative set.

The teapot features its original matching lid, and together with the accompanying milk jug and sugar basin, forms a charming and authentic Victorian tea service. Each piece is clearly marked to the base with the Samson Hancock Derby factory marks, confirming their origin and period.

Condition

Overall, good antique condition. The teapot has a small chip to the spout, consistent with age and use. The milk jug and sugar basin are in very good condition, with no major damage. Please refer to the photographs for confirmation.
