A very elegant antique pedestal occasional table beautifully crafted in ebonised wood and richly decorated with intricate floral marquetry.
 
The circular top is finely inlaid with a striking arrangement of scrolling foliage and blossoming flowers, executed in contrasting fruitwood and satinwood veneers against the deep ebonised ground. The design is framed by an ornate marquetry border which enhances the richness and symmetry of the composition, creating a particularly eye-catching surface.
 
The table is supported by a graceful spiral turned column rising from a circular platform base. The lower tier is also decorated with a delicate marquetry garland echoing the decorative theme of the top and adding an extra level of refinement rarely seen on tables of this type. The outer edges of both the top and base are further enhanced with contrasting segmented banding which provides a subtle yet effective decorative finish.
