Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Gothic revival cast iron hall stands gained immense popularity during the Victorian era, as advancements in foundry techniques allowed for intricate architectural motifs to be mass-produced for domestic entryways.

These items were typically produced using sand-casting methods with grey cast iron, often finished with protective japanning, bronze powder, or black paint to simulate more expensive metals.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit characteristic surface oxidisation, crisp multi-part assembly via threaded bolts, heavy weight, and wear patterns consistent with decades of use in traditional hallways.

Positioning the stand in a contemporary entrance hall creates a striking industrial contrast, allowing the heavy metallic texture and openwork design to anchor minimalist white or neutral walls.

Maintain cast iron by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to protect the metal finish from moisture.
