Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated this Mahogany Sofa Table to the 1930s.
Two hinged drop leaves allow the table to be used in a variety of settings, functioning equally well as a sofa table, console table or occasional games table.

When opened, the top reveals an inlaid chessboard, with a further lined backgammon board concealed beneath. The frieze is fitted with two drawers, providing practical storage for games pieces.
The table stands on elegant lyre-shaped supports united by a turned stretcher and terminates in original brass paw feet — a particularly attractive and desirable detail. The overall proportions and restrained ornament reflect Regency taste carried into the mid-Victorian period.
Presented in very good antique condition, with a warm colour and patina throughout and light age-related wear consistent with period.
