Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Terrestrial globes from the 1930s served as both educational tools and decorative objects, often reflecting geopolitical boundaries of the interwar period before major border shifts occurred during World War II.

Traditional globes were typically constructed using a pressed paper mache or plaster sphere covered in printed paper gores, mounted on a wooden or cast metal base with a brass or metal meridian ring.

Authentic pieces exhibit age-appropriate patination, yellowing or oxidisation of the paper varnish, historical place names reflecting the era of production, and hand-applied paper gores rather than modern seamless vinyl prints.

A vintage globe adds an intellectual layer of decoration when placed on a desk, bookshelf, or side table, complementing both traditional dark wood furniture and modern minimalist spaces by introducing texture and history.

Preserve vintage globes by keeping them out of direct sunlight to prevent paper fading and varnish yellowing, maintaining stable room humidity, and dusting gently with a dry, soft microfiber cloth.
