FAQs

Regency style is characterised by neoclassical influences, heavily drawing from ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian motifs, featuring clean lines, dark exotic woods, and meticulous brass ornamentation.

Cabinet makers predominantly utilised dense tropical hardwoods like rosewood and mahogany, often enhanced by contrasting decorative veneers such as satinwood, alongside cast brass mounts and line inlays.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting traditional joinery methods, timber shrinkage patterns, hand-cut dovetails within drawer construction, and the patination naturally acquired over centuries of use.

Pairing the dark wood tones with minimalist seating and modern lighting creates a balanced contrast, allowing the historical craftsmanship to serve as a focal point in a study or living space.

Protect the timber from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, applying microcrystalline wax sparingly to nourish the wood surface without damaging the historic finish.
