Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, commercial establishments routinely commissioned custom leaded glass panels to advertise their business trade above doors or in main shopfront display windows. These signs integrated structural lead cames with coloured and textured glass to remain legible from the street while providing decorative architectural interest.

These panels were constructed using hand-cut coloured glass, textured cathode glass, and white opal glass, joined together using flexible lead cames soldered at the joints. Lettering was typically applied through enamel painting, reverse gilding, or brilliant cutting prior to leading the panel.

Authentic period examples feature handmade glass containing natural air bubbles, striations, and slight thickness variations. The lead cames usually exhibit natural dark oxidisation, solder marks at joints, and structural wear consistent with long-term atmospheric exposure.

A commercial glass sign can be wall-mounted with backlighting, suspended inside a window frame to capture natural daylight, or built into bespoke interior partitioning to serve as an architectural room divider.

Glass should be wiped gently using a soft microfiber cloth lightly dampened with water, avoiding ammonia-based chemical cleaners that can degrade lead or paintwork. The surrounding lead cames can be maintained with non-acidic conservation wax to prevent white powdery oxidisation.
