We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Originating in Central Europe during the period between 1815 and 1848, Biedermeier design focused on utilitarianism, clean lines, and the use of domestic woods rather than heavy carving, heavily influencing Scandinavian furniture makers.

Craftsmen typically utilised local timbers such as birch, cherry, and ash, often featuring striking flame or burl veneers, paired with contrasting ebonised wood details or hardware.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-cut veneers, traditional shellac or French polish finishes, traditional joinery methods, and natural ageing characteristics within the wood grain.

This table can be integrated into modern settings by pairing it with minimalist seating, using it as a central display surface, or placing it in an empty corner to provide textural contrast.

Maintain antique wood surfaces by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate natural wax polish.
