Marsh, Jones & Cribb Writing Table Or Desk Of Exhibition Quality c.1880

Crafted from walnut & ebony, this exquisite writing table or desk retains its original leather, adorned with Greek key tooling that echoes the finely inlaid Greek key motifs on the end rails. The columns feature ebony fluting, intricate marquetry & delicately carved bows & swags. Acanthus leaf carvings embellish the base, complemented by inlaid panels of boxwood & ebony, with elegant turned finials rising from the bottom rail. Additional details include inset castors & a lavish upholstered foot cushion with original horsehair stuffing. Maker’s paper label to the underneath. A high quality piece, offered in showroom condition.
