Royal Worcester pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are characterised by fine bone china, delicate hand-painted artistry often featuring British flora and fauna, and frequently incorporate gilded accents.

These items were typically crafted from fine glazed porcelain or bone china, meticulously hand-painted overglaze by skilled factory artists, and finished with metallic gilt collars or stoppers.

Authenticity is verified by examining the factory backstamps underneath the glaze, noting the specific dot or symbol codes indicating the year of manufacture, and looking for artist signatures such as Walter Powell.

Positioning the piece on a mantelpiece, inside a glass-fronted display cabinet, or on a dressing table allows its intricate hand-painted details to be appreciated as a focal point of craftsmanship.

Preservation requires keeping the item away from direct sunlight to prevent pigment fading, dusting gently with a soft dry cloth, and avoiding chemical cleaners or submersion in water to protect the delicate gilding.
