Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, leaded glass windows incorporating hand-painted central panels became popular features in residential and ecclesiastical architecture. These decorative panels allowed natural light to pass through while offering privacy and displaying pastoral or geometric motifs.

These panels were crafted using individual pieces of coloured, textured, or painted glass joined together by H-sectioned lead cames, which were then soldered at the joints. Central vignettes were frequently painted with vitreous enamels and fired in a kiln to permanently fuse the artwork to the glass surface.

Authentic panels from circa 1900 typically feature irregular hand-cut glass edges, subtle air bubbles within the glass, and natural patination on the lead cames. Additionally, authentic hand-painted details display microscopic brushwork and kiln-fired depth rather than modern surface-printed methods.

A decorative glass panel can be suspended in front of a modern window frame to catch natural sunlight, or mounted as framed wall art with subtle backlight. It can also be integrated into custom interior room dividers, internal doors, or cabinet fronts to introduce colour and texture.

Clean the glass using a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water, avoiding chemical cleaners or abrasive materials that could damage painted enamels or degrade original lead cames. Ensure the lead structure remains supported within a rigid outer frame to prevent bowing or stress on soldered joints.
