Fine Topographical Tray Doe & Rogers, Chamberlain Worcester, C1830

Description

A fine topographical porcelain tray made by Chamberlain Worcester c 1830.

Of a plain rectangular shape with raised and pierced gallery with gilded anthemia, leafy  scrolls and flowerheads decoration.

The tray is superbly decorated in hot pink enamel with the centre painted with a view of Bowden Park, Wiltshire in a tooled gilt frame. 

The landscape is almost certainly painted by Doe and Rogers, famous decorating partnership of Enoch Doe and George Roger senior, specialising in landscape painting on coloured grounds with raised gilding.

Unmarked, there’s some labels from the previous owner to the reverse.

Dimensions: length – 23.5 cm, width – 17.5 cm, depth – 4 cm.

Condition: excellent condition, no damage or restoration, some minor manufacturing blemishes and very little handling wear.
