Circa 1880-1900. A top quality brass doorstop with a lot of details throughout. It has been hard to photograph the details due to reflection of light, but it is full of interesting features.
There are cherubs either side, two dolphins at the base and what appears to be a mythological face in-between, with the shapes of large birds underneath. A lion''s face is at the top of the handle both front and back. The details are extraordinary, and a sign of good quality casting.
It measures 33cm in height; 19cm width of the base and the depth is 9cm, and it weighs 3.4kgs.
It is one of the finest doorstops we have had in stock for a long time. It has been polished but not lacquered.
Postage and packing for the UK mainland only is included in the price but for delivery in outside areas or abroad please contact us for a delivery quote. Thank you.
