Antique Uzbek Lakai tribe ''Saye Gosha'' silk embroidered bed decoration.
Circa 1920/30.
Saye gosha are V shaped embroideries that were designed to hang over the rolled up bedding in the tents and yurts during the day. They often formed part of the wedding dowry and were prized embroideries often used to decorate the inside of the yurt.
This is a later example with richly coloured silk embroidery on a dark cotton ground, the design is typical of Lakai work.
Excellent original condition.
