Three Panel Gilt Wood Screen Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
Description

A three panel giltwood modesty screen. The front is upholstered in a cream and gold woven toile de jouy heavy fabric. It is edged with gold piping. The reverse is covered in a beige crushed velvet and edged with matching braid.

The frame is gilt wood but has been overpainted with gold paint in several places. The original gilt is still visible in many parts. The back still has signs of the original burnished gilding.

The feet have a few losses which have been painted in. Please examine photos in detail.
