Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A pair of late 19th Century Japanese Meiji jardinieres, standing 28 cm high, 39 cm wide and 39 cm deep, bring traditional East Asian craftsmanship to the modern interior. Each circular vessel is made from white porcelain with a glazed finish, ornamented with blue hand-painted raised relief floral medallions depicting chrysanthemums, alongside an everted rim detail and three scrolling butterfly feet. Positioned on a sideboard top in a sunlit conservatory, these pieces offer a refined planting solution for small indoor ferns or flowering plants. The classic blue and white colourway coordinates easily with neutral timber surfaces and ceramic tableware, adding a decorative accent to traditional and eclectic living spaces alike.

Late nineteenth-century Japanese blue and white porcelain, often produced during the Meiji period, is characterised by underglaze cobalt blue decoration on white porcelain bodies. Designs frequently incorporate traditional flora, motifs such as chrysanthemums and butterflies, and dimensional mouldings or relief elements.

These pieces were crafted from high-fired porcelain clay with hand-applied relief elements and cobalt blue underglaze painted detailing. The items were coated in a clear protective glaze before undergoing high-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-applied cobalt slip, natural variations in underglaze tone, characteristic foot construction, and minor firing imperfections consistent with late nineteenth-century kiln production.

Position them symmetrically on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or console table to create visual balance. House potted ferns, orchids, or topiary within the containers to contrast green foliage against the blue and white porcelain.

Clean surface dust using a soft dry cloth. If washing is necessary, use lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners; internal plastic liners are recommended when using them as active planters to prevent water damage.
