We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau ceramics produced between 1890 and 1910 are characterised by sinuous lines, flowing organic forms, and naturalistic motifs such as shells, flora, and muted female figures. Manufacturers frequently used soft pastel glazes and matte finishes to accentuate sculpted contours.

Royal Dux items were primarily crafted using porcelain and soft-paste ceramic clay, often finished with matte enamel glazes. Pieces frequently incorporated cold-painted or gilded accents to define delicate structural details.

Authentic pieces generally feature an applied pink clay triangle mark bearing the manufacturers name, along with impressed shape and mould numbers on the underside. The presence of subtle hand-painted shading and soft muted tones is also typical of early production.

Sculptural porcelain centrepieces function well as focal accents on dark wood sideboards, marble mantelpieces, or glass display cabinets. Pairing the piece with neutral textures allows the intricate shape and muted hues to stand out without visual clutter.

Dust the sculpture regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a fine camel-hair brush to clean crevices. Avoid submerging the piece in water or applying abrasive chemical detergents, as these can strip cold-painted details and gilding.
