Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 1860s.

The 61cm wide mahogany tray features twin butlers or ladies maid carrying handles, turned legs to each corner in a style suggesting mid 19th century and consistent with Urquhart and Adamson’s presence in the wealthy and industrialist city of Liverpool with great shipping trade and large city and country houses.

Presented in mostly very good condition, showing evidence of wear and use to authenticate, minimal water stain to top and a repair to the back gallery rail but otherwise mostly excellent, please see all images as they show an honest assessment of condition. Structurally excellent with splendid patination, a very nice example.
