Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Kashmiri metalwork flourished during the nineteenth century under British colonial influence, combining traditional Persian and Mughal design motifs with utilitarian objects manufactured for export and local elites.

These items are typically crafted from brass or copper alloys, often featuring silver plating, tinning, or chemical patination, finished with intricate hand-chased and repousse ornamentation.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-tooled inconsistencies, natural oxidisation within the recesses, traditional artisan punch marks, and heavy-gauge base metals characteristic of pre-industrial manufacture.

Such pieces function effectively as coffee table centrepieces, display platters for glassware and candles, or mounted wall chargers to introduce textural contrast and global heritage into contemporary spaces.

Preservation requires dusting with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding aggressive chemical polishes or abrasive pads to protect the historic patina and delicate surface detailing.
