Hand Painted Faux Bamboo Design

This striking design is another variation of the Geometric Decorative Designs which are a hallmark feature of Tom White’s creativity. The intricacy of the totally hand painted design really is spellbinding - the symmetry is just one of the features that enhance the original design of the furniture to which it is applied. There are many hours involved in transforming these beautiful pieces of furniture into the decorative works of art that they become.

There are no templates involved when working with any of our Decorative Design items; the patterns are individually drawn out on to each item which ensures that the proportions maximise the aesthetic in every way possible. Even when there are a suite of items, such as with this Pair of Georgian Console Tables and the Georgian Desk/Dressing Table (WA120) and the this ensures that each item is totally individual.

The base colour is always one of the key deciding factors - for this particular item the base colour use is an Distressed Mottled Black Finish. The colours used for the actual Faux Bamboo Design will be consistent throughout this design and are individually mixed colours. These are applied using a variety of different brushes and techniques which provides appropriate highlights, lowlights, and definition, thus enhancing the design with added depth and detail and imbuing a greater texture and dimension.

We mix our palette of paint colours from those used within the Georgian era and also from various periods within Continental Europe, mixed according to our traditional recipe and applied by hand with great precision; our finish involves multiple techniques and differing consistencies and varied ingredients for each part of the process. Our Specialist Paint Finishes are designed to retain the historical charm and authenticity of the item whilst enabling use within our contemporary era. We describe the colours with more contemporary names, which we hope are accurately descriptive.

This is a very labour intensive system and the correct amount of time has to be allowed between each the different processes to ensure that we can establish that our quality remains consistently high. Due to the natural pigments within the wood from which each item is constructed and the individual processes there are inevitably some very minor variations in tone and an exact colour match is not always possible.

For a complete assessment of the item's condition, we encourage you to carefully examine all the provided photos. These pictures are integral to the description and condition report of the item, providing crucial visual details about its appearance and quality.
