A rare pair of Art Deco Elephant Bookends. A delightful pair each showing an Elephant balancing on a barrel. Each signed Franjou across the centre of each barrel. Franjou is a pseudonym used by Hippolyte Moreau. Made from spelter, with glass eyes and ‘balancing’ atop a barrel on a variegated grey marble base. The Elephants are cold painted gold and the barrel is cold painted dark brown. Excellent original condition with light wear commensurate with age. A couple of very small nibbles to the marble base.
