19th Century French Chestnut & Pine Farmhouse Table Seats 8 -10

• French 19th Century circa 1840-1860

• 5 plank thick pine top and Chestnut Trestle ended base

• Flat tapered legs

• Useful drawer to one end

• In good, sturdy condition throughout

• Traces of long extinct woodworm, precautionary treatment carried out

• Historical minor restoration

• The height has been raised at some point in the past to give good knee clearance

• Will comfortably seat 8 - a friendly 10 when the need arises!

• Table overhang is: each end - 10cm (4") each side - 4cm (1.6")

• Apron height: each end - 57cm (22.4") each side - 62cm (24.4")

• H: 78cm (30.7") W: 210cm (82.7") D: 84cm (33.1")

This attractive and functional 19th Century French farmhouse table, dating from circa 1840-1860, features a thick five-plank pine top with a delightful mellow colour and patina. It stands on a distinctive trestle-ended base with end stretchers, made from chestnut wood, and includes flat tapered legs and a drawer at one end. The table is in good, sturdy condition, with evidence of extinct woodworm and precautionary treatment applied, alongside historical minor restorations. It can comfortably seat eight to a cozy ten and has been raised at some point to provide ample knee clearance.
