This set of four nesting tables originates from the 19th Century in a Qing Dynasty style, formed from a dark brown hardwood timber with a natural grain texture. Each table stands on turned faux bamboo legs with small rounded feet, connected by low stretcher bases that mirror the bamboo motif. The frames display detailed pierced floral aprons beneath rectangular tops, graduating in scale so the smaller tables slide neatly beneath the largest one. Small losses are visible on the structure, alongside surface wear on the dark timber. Measuring 73 cm high, 52 cm wide, and 37 cm deep for the largest piece, the nested set provides flexible surface space in a gentleman's library or at the end of a sofa. Individual tables can be separated around a seating area to hold lamps or drinks, and stored together to save floor space when not in use.
