Antique occasional tables typically feature compact proportions and functional designs intended for portable use in various rooms throughout a residence during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Maintain walnut surfaces by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and periodically applying quality beeswax to nourish the timber.

They serve effectively as functional accents beside seating arrangements or as display surfaces, introducing warmth and historical contrast to contemporary minimalist spaces.

Authentic period pieces exhibit signs of age such as hand-cut joinery, natural timber shrinkage, oxidisation, and wear consistent with historical use rather than modern manufacturing marks.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, and oak, often utilising traditional joinery techniques and hand-carved details.
