An C18th century torchere with mirrored panels throughout (most are mercury mirror plates). It has both painted and gilded decoration and has been repainted in places several times. Please examine the photos. It also has foliate gesso decoration around the column. This torchere is a rare survivor from the 18th century and was from a large country house in Northen England
