Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco ceramic design from the 1930s is characterised by geometric structure, repeating linear patterns, and stylised floral motifs. Designers frequently incorporated raised tube-lining to create distinct segments filled with coloured slip or glaze.

Tube-lined pottery was crafted using an earthenware clay body, onto which slip liquid clay was trailed through a fine nozzle to form raised outlines. The defined compartments were then hand-filled with ceramic glazes before firing in a kiln.

Authentic pieces feature backstamps from manufacturers such as Bursley Ware or Crown Ducal on the underside. They frequently carry hand-painted pattern numbers alongside a tube-lined or painted designer signature.

A decorative ceramic bowl can be positioned as a focal point on a sideboard top or console table. Alternatively, securing the piece with a plate hanger allows it to be displayed as wall art within a gallery wall arrangement.

Earthenware items should be washed gently by hand using warm water and a mild non-abrasive detergent. Avoid immersion for extended periods, machine dishwashing, or harsh chemical cleaners to protect the glaze from crazing.
