Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Originating in early 19th-century Britain, Regency sofa tables are characterised by narrow rectangular tops with short drop leaves, shallow drawers, and curved legs or pedestal bases designed to sit behind or alongside sofas.

Fine timbers such as exotic rosewood, mahogany, and zebrawood were typically chosen, frequently embellished with brass stringing, marquetry, or cast brass feet and castors.

Original pieces show hand-cut brass inlay flush with the wood grain, period-correct drawer construction such as hand-cut dovetails, original brass castors, and natural age-related patination on unexposed surfaces.

These versatile tables function as hall console tables, side tables flanking contemporary seating, or freestanding accent tables in modern living rooms.

Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dust with a soft microfibre cloth, and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally while avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that may lift brass inlay.
