Early C19th George IV period mahogany fold-over tea-table raised on a lyre support base .
Figured mahogany fold-over tea table with a rounded corner top , mounted on a central carved classical lyre support with brass ‘strings’ , taking it’s inspiration from the fashionable Grecian revival movement of this period.
The centre of the frieze carved with a tablet of stylised acanthus leaves .
Raised on a concave-sided platform base with ‘hipped’ carved sabre-type legs and carved scroll feet with brass castors beneath. The fold-over hinged top swivels when opened to create a stable surface .
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina to the dramatically figured mahogany .
