FAQs

French Louis XVI style tables are defined by Classical symmetry, slender legs, carved detailing such as ribbons or floral garlands, and top surfaces featuring inset marble.

These pieces traditionally feature solid hardwoods such as beech, walnut, or oak for the carved structure, paired with natural marble slabs for the tabletop surface.

Look for hand-carved joinery details, natural oxidisation on the underside of timber elements, and precise hand-finished moulding around the marble perimeter.

Position the table beside a modern armchair or sofa, using it to display a structured reading lamp, ceramic vase, or curated books to bridge historic and contemporary aesthetics.

Dust timber carved surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth, and wipe marble tops using a damp cloth with pH-neutral soap, avoiding acidic cleaners that damage natural stone.
