In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional wooden domestic objects made before the widespread use of plastics and modern manufacturing, often hand-turned on a lathe from dense hardwoods like yew, boxwood, or fruitwood.

These pieces were typically turned from native British hardwoods such as yew, walnut, or mahogany, occasionally featuring bone or ceramic inserts for salt cellars.

Authenticity is determined by tool marks consistent with hand or pole lathe turning, natural timber ageing, deep patina, shrinkage cracks appropriate to age, and traditional joinery methods.

It serves as a sculptural decorative object on a kitchen counter, open shelving, or a dining sideboard, adding warmth and historical texture to contemporary spaces.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, avoiding immersion in water, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the natural finish.
