Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Burmantofts Pottery was produced in Leeds, England, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, renowned for its artistic faience, architectural tiles, and decorative wares influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and aesthetic design.

These pieces were typically crafted from local red clay, shaped using moulding or press-hand techniques, and finished with rich, coloured majolica glazes or specialised high-temperature fired glazes.

Authenticity is generally verified through impressed factory marks, specific mould numbers, characteristic crazing in the glaze, and the distinct quality of the hand-finishing typical of the period.

Such pieces can be hung as a striking focal point on a plain painted wall to create textural contrast, or incorporated into a curated gallery wall alongside contemporary art to bridge traditional and modern aesthetics.

Preservation requires mounting the plaque securely using appropriate hardware, keeping it away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, and dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth while avoiding chemical cleaners.
