A wonderful pair of C19th buff terracotta recumbent lions, of good scale and bold proportions, each with long flowing manes and heads turned to Sinister and Dexter, outstretched paws, rear haunches drawn up and tails curled round to the fronts. In well preserved condition with only surface weathering and no breaks, a few minor historic chips. By the renowned fire clayworks J M Craig, Kilmarnock. Can be used either indoors or outdoors. Circa 1850.
